PHARAOH BANKERS (Kunming City)

THE ARCHITECTS of Washington deliberately modelled the national buildings on ancient Roman ones - packed with marble pillars and granite, designed to intimidate visiting diplomats. In the same way - banks here can be spotted a mile away for the pair of lion statues at their entrance.

(To be truely correct - lions are a symbol of power across many cultures - including the British Commonwealth. Anyway - the lions look cool!)
